Background

Carrying a name after the youngest daughter of Alexander Chavchavadze, Sophia is the first light-bodied dry Khvanchkara in Georgia.

Terroir

Aleksandrouli and Mujuretuli grow side by side in the same vineyard, each contributing its unique character to a beautifully unified expression. Working with these Western Georgian varieties in the heart of Kakheti is both fascinating and full of discovery, revealing new layers of terroir and harmony. The vineyard rests at 600-650 meters above sea level, embraced by an oak forest that shapes a gentle microclimate. Its well-drained clay-limestone soils offer the ideal foundation for balance and depth, allowing both varieties to express their distinct yet complementary identities.

Viticulture

Our philosophy begins in the vineyard, where we believe exceptional wine is born in harmony between vine and terroir. Every detail matters - from the earthworms enriching the soil to the thoughtful care behind each vineyard practice. Through cover cropping and sustainable methods such as pest mating disruption, we nurture a balanced ecosystem where nature and the vine thrive together.
