2023

Style

Red Dry

Background

A beacon of the Estate’s two-century-old philosophy of symphonising Georgian and European traditions. Made from French Pinot Noir grown in Tsinandali vineyards in Kakheti.

Terroir

Tsinandali Vineyards stretch along the eastern slopes of the Tsinandali PDO, at 600-700 meters above sea level. The vines thrive in exceptional, well-drained clay-limestone soils that define the character of this historic terroir. Within this landscape lies a small parcel of less than half a hectare planted with Pinot Noir at 680-700 meters. Introducing this classic French variety to the Tsinandali terroir has been both an intriguing and rewarding experiment. We continue to observe how the vine expresses itself under our unique soil and climate conditions. So far, the vineyard yields healthy, high-quality fruit that shows great promise.

Viticulture

Our philosophy begins in the vineyard, where we believe exceptional wine is born in harmony between vine and terroir. Every detail matters - from the earthworms enriching the soil to the thoughtful care behind each vineyard practice. Through cover cropping and sustainable methods such as pest mating disruption, we nurture a balanced ecosystem where nature and the vine thrive together.

Vinification

This wine is a blend of two vintages. The 2022 harvest was fermented in stainless steel tanks, then transferred to medium-toasted Burgundy barrels, where it also underwent malolactic fermentation. The 2023 harvest fermented in stainless steel with whole berries, preserving freshness and fruit purity. Finally, the two components were blended in equal parts - a 50/50 harmony of depth and vibrancy.
