Background
This limited first vintage of our Malbec, born from young vines, reveals remarkable promise. The French variety finds a distinctive voice in the Tsinandali terroir, expressing both elegance and depth. Inspired by Prince Alexandre Chavchavadze - the visionary innovator of Georgian winemaking - this wine carries forward his legacy, where centuries of tradition meet the curiosity of discovery.
Terroir
The grapes come from Tsinandali Estate’s organic vineyard - 1.12 hectares of Malbec planted in 2022. Set on a south-eastern slope at 650 meters above sea level, the vines greet the morning sun and are gently cooled by breezes drifting through the nearby ravine. Though young, the vineyard boasts remarkable vitality, rooted in well-drained loamy soils rich in limestone. Cultivated with organic principles, it reflects the Estate’s dedication to purity and balance from the very beginning.
Viticulture
Our philosophy begins in the vineyard, where we believe exceptional wine is born in harmony between vine and terroir. Every detail matters - from the earthworms enriching the soil to the thoughtful care behind each vineyard practice. Through cover cropping and sustainable methods such as pest mating disruption, we nurture a balanced ecosystem where nature and the vine thrive together.

2024 Growing Season
The 2024 growing season in Tsinandali was one of contrasts - gentle spring rains, intense summer heat, and sudden autumn showers. The warmth of July and August hastened ripening, prompting an early harvest, while careful vineyard work preserved the fruit’s health and balance. Between bursts of rain, we found the perfect moments to pick, capturing grapes full of richness, vitality, and poise. Hence, the 2024 Malbec embodies the season’s strength and freshness, a vibrant expression of balance and resilience.
Vinification
The grapes, carefully hand-harvested from our young vines, were placed in stainless steel tanks - half gently crushed, half left as whole berries. Employing the saignée method, 15% of the juice was drawn off to enhance concentration, deepen aromas, and refine texture. Fermentation unfolded slowly over 16 days at 23-24 °C, allowing for a delicate and balanced extraction. Before bottling, the wine was softly filtered to preserve its purity, freshness, and authentic character.
