Background

Honouring Georgia’s 8,000-year-old Qvevri winemaking tradition, this blend celebrates indigenous grape varieties from Kakheti - the heart of Georgia’s premier wine region and home to Tsinandali Estate. Fermented and aged for six months in qvevri, ancient clay vessels buried underground, with extended skin contact, it reveals a luminous amber-gold hue reminiscent of summer sunlight. Continuing the timeless path of our ancestors, this wine preserves one of the world’s oldest and most distinctive winemaking traditions.

Terroir

Kisi, Khikhvi, and Mtsvane grapes are cultivated in distinct plots across Tsinandali’s south-east-facing vineyards, nestled 600-700 meters above sea level. Surrounded by oak forest, these slopes feature well-drained clay-limestone soils that perfectly express the character of each variety within the Tsinandali PDO.

Viticulture

Our philosophy begins in the vineyard, where we believe exceptional wine is born in harmony between vine and terroir. Every detail matters - from the earthworms enriching the soil to the thoughtful care behind each vineyard practice. Through cover cropping and sustainable methods such as pest mating disruption, we nurture a balanced ecosystem where nature and the vine thrive together.

2024 Growing Season

The 2024 growing season in Tsinandali was one of contrasts - gentle spring rains, intense summer heat, and sudden autumn showers. The warmth of July and August hastened ripening, prompting an early harvest, while careful vineyard work preserved the fruit’s health and balance. Between bursts of rain, we found the perfect moments to pick, capturing grapes full of richness, vitality, and poise.

Vinification

Each grape variety is vinified and aged separately in dedicated 1,500-litre qvevris. The extended skin-contact method requires exceptional fruit quality, so only the healthiest berries are chosen. True to authentic qvevri tradition, fermentation unfolds naturally without temperature control, allowing the wine to follow its own path. After six months, eight qvevris were opened in April to create the finest blend. A gentle filtration before bottling preserves the wine’s distinctive character and purity.

Tasting Note and Pairing

This blend captures the soul of a true Qvevri wine - where ripe, rounded tannins and poised acidity meet in perfect harmony. Notes of sun-warmed stone fruits and delicate spice rise gently from the glass, inviting you to linger on its long, graceful finish. Versatile and expressive, it pairs beautifully with roasted chicken, red meats, or the vibrant flavours of traditional Georgian salads.
