Guests of the Wine Symposium are treated to an exquisite palette: the iconic Bordeaux Grand Cru wines and Georgia’s finest selections. Yet, the experience extends beyond the vineyards. Attendees will delve into Georgian gastronomy and arts—enjoying classical and jazz performances, an enchanting Georgian folklore evening with Sukhishvili, and a lavish gala dinner crafted by a 3-star Michelin chef alongside Silk Hospitality’s brand chef, Irakli Asatiani. The symposium, in essence, is a symphony of wine expertise and cultural richness, celebrating both history and modernity.
TSINANDALI ESTATE
Tsinandali Estate is recognised as the birthplace of classical Georgian winemaking, where Georgia’s very first bottled wine was produced. Located in the heart of Kakheti, the country’s most famous wine region, the Estate has been owned for centuries by the princely House of Chavchavadze. Though its true renaissance is attributed to Prince Alexander Chavchavadze (1786-1846), who was a poet, public benefactor, and a prominent military and cultural figure.
Under Prince Alexander’s guidance, Tsinandali Estate merged Georgia’s 8,000 years of winemaking heritage with modern European techniques, laying the groundwork for classical Georgian winemaking. Today, this noble legacy endures as ancient Qvevri traditions harmoniously coexist with modern methods. Among the Estate’s most iconic wines are its signature PDO Tsinandali white wine and a selection of distinguished red wines.
Tsinandali - A Land Shaped by Centuries
At the foot of the Tsiv-Gombori mountains, where the slopes meet the sunny Alazani Valley, lies Tsinandali. Morning mist rises from the river to reveal vineyards under the Kakhetian sun. Cool evening air flows down from forested ridges, shaping the daily rhythm of the land.
Wine Selection
At Tsinandali Estate, our wines, spirits, and brut express the soul of Georgia’s ancient winemaking heritage. Crafted from estate-grown grapes in the historic Tsinandali terroir, each bottle reflects a balance of tradition and modern craftsmanship - offering elegance, authenticity, and a true sense of place in every glass.
Our Terroir - The Living Soul of Tsinandali Estate
Our vineyards lie on the gentle slopes of the Tsinandali PDO at 600-700 meters, where mountain air meets the Alazani Valley. The exchange between oak forests and open sky creates a balanced environment shaped by light, air, and soil.
Our Farming Philosophy - In Harmony with the Vineyard
Our 40-hectare vineyard stretches across the slopes of Tsinandali, facing the morning sun and benefiting from the cooling influence of surrounding oak forests.
Wine
The grapes from the Tsinandali Estate vineyards are harvested by hand with exceptional care in order to produce the highest quality traditional and classic wines. Tsinandali Winery continues the ancient Georgian tradition, according to which the wine is aged in qvevri for 6 months with the grape skins. On the other hand, we follow advanced winemaking technologies. The cellar is equipped with prevailing machinery, stainless steel tanks, and European barrels for wine ageing.
Oenotheque
Prince Alexander Chavchavadze’s remarkable wine collection is preserved today in the historical oenotheque at Tsinandali, which houses more than 16,500 bottles representing 70 different wine varieties. Among its treasures is the Tsinandali Estate Saperavi vintage 1839, the oldest bottled wine in Georgia, dating back to 1841.
The Winemaker
Davit Maisuradze, the chief winemaker of Tsinandali Estate and the creator of exclusive, exceptional wines, first led the winemaking efforts at Tsinandali from 1988 to 1991. He returned to the renewed Tsinandali Estate in 2013.
